At WHAT changes are there for FIFA 23?

Swaps things around

Changing your players’ positions has always been vital in FIFA, but it’s especially crucial in FIFA Ultimate Team because of the emphasis on teamwork. They can make similar adjustments to positions in FIFA 23 as they have to chemistry. It may take some time to adjust if you’ve been playing the series for a while, but we’ve put together a brief primer to help you understand how position changes function in FIFA 23.

In FIFA 23, how will positions function?

Players will no longer have to switch their striker to the central midfield position in order to provide a chemistry link to their centerback in FIFA 23. These athletes will now connect no matter their position on the field. But that doesn’t mean a player is stuck in their assigned role forever. If you want more flexibility, FIFA 23 will simulate a player’s actual positioning.

Many primary positions in FIFA 23 will come with a secondary option. Intergame, you can use a position modifier to move them here. Up to three can be held by exceptionally versatile players, but this is unlikely.

People like Alphonso Davies are representative of the new system. Although he typically plays left fullback for Bayern Munich, he is frequently used in an offensive role for the Canadian national team. If EA Sports hadn’t released a new version of him, it would have been impossible to play him as a left winger in previous FIFA games. In FIFA 23, players can switch positions, so he can easily transition to playing as a quick attacker in your formation.

It’s impossible to overstate the game-changing potential of this move across the board. You won’t see any more superstars like Kylian Mbappe manning the midfield, but you will see a lot more variety in positions.
