Eric Bolling, host of Newsmax, pounced on Laura Ingraham’s apparent skepticism of a run for office by former President Donald Trump to criticize both Ingraham and Fox News.
Ingraham said on Monday’s podcast that “we’ll see whether that’s what the country wants” when asked about a possible second Trump presidential run.
On The Truth With Lisa Boothe, Ingraham said, “The country, I think, is so exhausted, they are exhausted by the battle, the constant battle, that they may believe that, well, maybe it’s time to turn the page if we can get someone who has all Trump’s policies, who is not Trump.”
Bolling, who joined Newsmax last summer after leaving Fox News in 2017 following an investigation into allegations that he sexually harassed female colleagues, made it clear he did not approve of Ingraham deviating even slightly from the pro-Trump agenda.
In reference to the FBI’s search of Mar-a-Lago, Bolling said, “The more we hear about it, the more the lies will be uncovered.”
And yet, even those who are ostensibly on the right side of things,” he continued as the Fox News logo flashed on screen, “like to say it’s about the time to have given up on Donald Trump. It’s possible they lost hope in the guy. Just like her employer, Fox News host Laura Ingraham appears to have given up on President Trump.
After playing the relevant clip from Ingraham’s podcast appearance, Bolling said he “respectfully” begged to differ, mentioning that Ingraham is a friend of his and a “solid, solid Trump supporter” who spoke at the Republican National Convention in 2016.
Astonished, I asked, “What do you mean, ‘No Trump’?” Asked Bolling. Why are you acting like this?
