Madonna is remembering the highlights of her career, including a legendary TV performance.

Madge performed a Classroom Instruments segment, bragged about her drumming skills, and played a naughty word association game with host Jimmy Fallon during an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday. She also revealed the truth about her life-changing performance at the first MTV Video Music Awards in 1984, which she claimed nearly derailed her career.

Madonna told Fallon she was surprised by the decision to promote “Like a Virgin” at the time because “I thought it was quite controversial,” despite the fact that she had “no say” in what singles were released by her label. It wasn’t the lyrics or the music that caused a stir, but rather my performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, I said.

Onstage, Madonna recalls, she was descending the steps of a massive wedding cake when one of her shoes came off.

“I was trying to do this smooth move, like, dive for the shoe and make it look like choreography and my dress flipped up and my butt was showing,” she said. “What would that be like, if you could? Back then, you had to keep your butt covered if you wanted to advance in your career. The situation has changed and is now the other way around.”

The singer claimed she was unaware of the incident and continued with the show as planned.

“It was totally unintentional, and I had no idea my butt was bared. And it wasn’t even my entire butt. It resembled a butt cheek, or at least half of one “It was something she noticed. “My manager told me the end of my career when I went backstage.”

The 53-year-old superstar is releasing a new studio album today called Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones, which features new versions of her most popular songs.

Despite the fact that Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Nicki Minaj, and Nile Rogers all contributed to the album, Madonna has one rap star on her wish list.

She said, “I mean, if there’s one artist I worship more than anything, it’s Kendrick Lamar, and I would love to collaborate with him.” “There has never been anything like his latest album. It’s mind-blowing. It’s completely bonkers.”
