In the Ultimate Team Deep Dive for FIFA 23, released on August 11th, the pack animation for this year’s game was shown for the first time.

The pack animation is always one of the most anticipated aspects of the annual FIFA Ultimate Team reveal. The public has an interest in learning more about walkouts, including how to identify them in their favorite players. The trailer included a brief clip of the animation in the FUT Moments section, giving us something to go on. We won’t know for sure until Early Access and the EA Play trial, but it’s possible that there are a few minor details we’re still missing.

Animation for FIFA 23 Ultimate Team Packs

Vinicius Jr., star player for Real Madrid, is shown in a pack animation clip beginning at 0:27 in the video above, when his rating is FIFA 22.

The first thing you might notice is that it looks a lot like the FIFA 22 animation, complete with a highlighted player card. Opening packs now has a more thrilling atmosphere without the previous pitch background. Players of last year’s FIFA 18, 19, and 20 complained that the animation was too fast and took away from the action.

It’s unclear whether the cumulative score that appears on Vinicius Jr.’s card is a brand-new feature or if it’s just a post-production effect. Assuming this is a new addition, it’s a big step up from last year’s animation, in which players did nothing but sit and wait for the number to be revealed.

The animation appears to have more style than before, but fans are still hoping for some additional information before the September 30 release date.
